1973 Chevy Corvette fuel system malfunction

The car starts fine, when I press hard on the accelerator it sputters and then dies. Then it takes a while to start it again and it usually dies soon thereafter. It has 3/4 a tank of gas, a new fuel pump and I have treated the tank with HEET. What could be the problem

Probably need carb work a rebuild is likely needed.
Those Quad R Jets are notorious for failure.

I agree with Drfixit, but dump the Q-jet and get a Holley
