The low coolant lamp came on, I added coolant to the car to bring the levels to there proper level. The low coolant light did not go out, what else could be the problem or do I get the light out?

You could have a bad coolant level sensor. Is the resevoir and the radiator both filled to full?

Take out the sensor and see if its corroded and check it for proper function.
