my 2002 chevy cavalier.6 cylinder,46,000 miles is making a popping noise when I put on the brakes or let up.It now sounds like I ran over something in the back. The car jumps and pops.I had the brakes replaced two months ago.I took it back to my mechanis ofsourse he could not find anything wrong.he drove it and made a vidual inspection. It does not do it every time, but it does do it and it is bothering me.someone said it might be the struts.any suggestions?

there is a like rubber strut bushing on the top of the spring to keep it from hitting the top of the body in the rear, i have had a problem with that moving or getting worn out and metal to metal kind of sound when i hit bumps... im not certified mechanic but ive been there id check that first. or you got a brake cylinder in the rear sticking...
