my power steering pulley came off on my cavalier what was holding it on? 105607 miles ,year =1997,

The power steering pulley is held on by pressure. It has to be put back on with a pulley puller & installer tool kit. The pump will have to be loosened up so you can move it around and use the tool to press the pulley back on. I have never heard of one just falling off though so you may have other problems
