When starting thr car, cold or not, it sometimes misses and studders out or starts with a clank noise but starts fine when I put the clutch to the floor. Friends say worn pressure plate or master cylinder, thoughts?

If car starts with clutch depressed but makes noise if not, then it is logical to asssume the TO bearing, pressure plate or diaphram springs are the problem.

Check fluid level in clutch MC.
