1999 Chevy Cavalier Hitting gas does nothing.

The car will start but shakes horribly. When I hit the gas I get no response from the engine. When the problem started it was only a delayed response when I hit the gas. Any ideas would be a big help thanks.

Sounds like no fuel did you check fuel pressure. Also check to see if there is spark at all the spark plugs. Also check to see if there is injector pulse if everything else is ok.
