1997 Chevy Cavalier Muffler

In the cold mornings when I first start my car, it is really loud. Then after about a minute it quiets down. I had a muffler put on last year around the same time. What could be causing this loud noise?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

I would have the exhaust checked for leaks and defects, the muffler that was replaced may be faulty, it may have a loose internal baffle that can change the note of the engine, get this check out first.
