it stalls after driving 10-15 miles when you apply the brakes on the highway. But it will always start again but, when you put in gear(drive or reverse) it will stall right away. Now if I let it sit for about 15 -20 min. It will start and I can put it into gear just about enough to get my butt home! It does not idle rough except when this happens. It idles a little but not a whole lot

Remove and clean the Idle Air control valve.

Another possible cause is the TCC lockup. The torque convertor lockup clutch is not disengaging.

This normally creates a problem when you stop (engine dies), then when put in gear it may die again.

If the IAC does not solve the problem, unplug the TCC connector on the trans. And see if it helps.
