My car started to act like it wasnt recieving fuel in second geer. Then I started to do it all the time tried to go up a hill and it died. Could it be the fuel pump or cat. Converter?

Hello, how long since a tune-up? How is the fuel pressure, you need a gage for that. Are there any codes?

Yes it had a tune up I have been riding it hard for a month driving a hundred miles to and from work for about a month. My boyfriend seems to think we can take cat converter off and it will work but I really think that its the fuel pump

You can check for clogged exhaust by checking vacuum readings.

If you think it is a fuel issue, check fuel pressure or have it checked. If I suspected a fuel issue, checking fuel pressure is the very first thing I would check.

Hi, you need a fuel pressure gage. For TBI, get a fuel pressure gage for TBI, (throttle body injection). If you have a schrader valve, get a fuel pressure gage that screws onto a schrader valve. Make sure there is no pressure on the system before doing anything.
