Shakes or Wobbles problem
1991 Chevy Caprice 118000 miles

Recently I had a oil leak located by the transmission which I had replaced. A few days later when I tried to drive my car, my engine started to shake tremendously when I start it up and white smoke came from the exhaust pipe with an awful smell. I still tried to drive it but it would shake and the car just shut off. Do you know what the problem could be? I would like to have an idea to determine if my car is even worth getting it fixed. I haven't been able to take it to get serviced because I can't make it to the repair shop because it keeps shutting off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you had the trans replaced to fix the leak it may be the wrong torque converter causing the problem. Or it can be loose bolts. It depends where the leak was an dif it 's the tran sor not.

Sounds like a blown head gasket, between the cylinder and water passage.

To check, pull one spark plug at a time and look for one that is very wet. If you do find wet plugs, do not start the car as this type of blown head gasket will cause serious damage very fast.
