Electrical problem
1987 Chevy Caprice V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have air ride on my vehicle, and it has a 225amp alternator. It charges just fine until I turn on the air compressors, then it quits charging. All the wiring is new the alternator is new the battery is new. I have also checked the ground wire, and upgraded the wiring to 0ga power and ground. I have bypassed everything and ran a wire straight from the battery to the compressor, with the positive disconnected from the battery it dies as soon as I touch the wires together

Hello, are you using an air tank? What is the amp draw from the compressors? I'm not that familiar with air-ride systems. There is a site at airride. Com, I believe they have forums? Maybe some of the other folks here have better info on that system?
