1981 Chevy Camaro V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual

when I push the brake pedal, all the dash lights and the front parking lamps come on also. I have checked all the bulbs, all are the proper dual filament bulbs that are not burnt out. The car has a new headlight switch and a new brake light switch. I noticed when installing the brake light switch that this happened even when only the power wire harness of the switch was plugged in. So best I can figure, the switch is pushing the power back up through the taillight line when the brakes are pushed. I've checked all the fuses and am out of ideas. Everything I can find online says to check the bulbs, but all is well with them, like I said.

Check your brake lights one at a time. The filament can touch the other filament in the bulb, still work but it backfeeds and puts all your lights on except your headlights. You will have to take the bulbs out one at a time and go from there.
