1978 Chevy Camaro V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic? Miles

I have a 92 camaro that has a 350 sbc out of a 78 camaro. I just recently got the car so I dont know much about it. I was driving the other day and A lifter started tapping. Got it home pulled the valve cover to adjust the rocker arm, when I noticed that there wasnt a jam nut on the rocker arm just a regular nut. I went and purchased a new rocker arm and jam nut. Put it on and adjust the rocker arm with the motor running. I can adjust it so it will quit ticking but within a few seconds of the motor running it starts to tick again. I pulled the pushrod and it was bend so I replaced it but still having the same problem can adjust it till it quits and motor idles down but within a few seconds motor will idle back up and starts tapping again. Any sugjestions?

Ya I plan to pull intake tomarrow to see what the lifter looks like. Also another thing I forgot to mention was that on any other sbc I have adjust with motor running I have gotten spraid with oil. And this one has no oil spray. All of the rockers are getting coated pretty good except the two on the cylinder that I am having this problem with. But my gage is showing about 40psi cold at idle and little over 20psi warm at idle. Sometimes once it is warm it will drop down to about 10psi but this has only happend a couple times.
