I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer and just lately It won't let me fill my tank! I filled it up last week and have put on about 150 miles and am now at a hlaf tank. When I try to put gas in it spits it back out at me as if it were full! I need to fill my tank and am not an idiot but it won't let me fuel up. Suggestions? By the way. Took it to my mechanic and he seems to think there's nothing wrong. What. Because you put a tube in there?

Sound like the fuel vent tube that runs from the fillier neck to the top of the fuel tank may be clogged. Look under the car where the filler tube runs to the tank, there should be a small hose about 5/8 that connects to the tank. Try that and let me know.

Thanks for offering some advice but it was a no-go. I have had my car in the shop for days and it has completely stumped everyone! Of course! They put in a new tank thinking that would work- still can't put gas in it. Checked all of the tubes and wires- still no gas. They did figure out that if you pull the hose that goes to the coal box.I'm sure that's what it is called. Anyway, if the hose gets pulled you can put gas in the car but if it is on it stops everything. Apparently the gas tank isn't releasing the air pressure. ANYMORE SUGGESTIONS?

You might have to get another evap box from salvage yard. Could be defective. Makes no sense to me.

Same issue happened to me. Was taking about 30 min. To fill the tank/
There is a purge vent selenoid mounted under truck. Remove spare tire snd you can then see it. Cost was around $30.00 and took me about 5 min. To replace.
This part was also causing Engine Light to come on when tank got to little under half full.
Repale part and engine light stopped comming on and I then could fill up the tank.
