Hi,

My question is this:

When I turn my wipers on and go to turn them off, the wipers stop anywhere on the window, not in the position they are supposed to at the bottom of your dashboard. Also, when you turn the wipers off they should go off! But mine don't. They go off when they want to. Like if you want to use your mist for instance, they should go off after 3 wipes. But these wipers go on and on for about 6-8 wipes.

Also, my water mister for the wipers only works once in a while. I stuck a very small wire inside each mister hole so I don't think they are plugged.

Any solutions to these problems?

I break out in a cold sweat everytime I have to go to the mechanics because they see a girl coming to get her car fixed by herself and all they can say is "Ka Ching".

I'd appreciate any advise.

Thanks!
Jeanie

Sounds like the wiper control board failure. Well known failure. The problem is that the connector that attaches to the wiper puts stress on the board and breaks the pins loose. There are a couple ways to fix it. One is to remove the connector and resolder the connection pins. The other is to replace the board itself. The replacement board is about 25-35 bucks. If you can figure out which end of a screwdriver is which you could replace the board yourself. It isn't hard. Many sites online have pictures of the process.
