Yeah it sounds kinda like when you let your hand hit a plastic fan, but louder. It happened while I was driving and it makes that sound when we try to start it.

Have you checked the belts to make sure none have broken? Also, make sure the fan shroud isn't hitting the fan itself.

Let me know what you find.
