How difficult is it to replace the belt tension pulley on a 1993 Chev Beretta 3.1. I have read somewhere that you have to go through the wheel well. Also, what would cause it to backfire while trying to start in the mornings? It doesn't happen all the time.

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure the threads are backwards (lefty-tightie, righty-loosie) on the tensioner pulley, should be able to unbolt it to replace it. Is it backfiring while running or when you try to start it, but dont crank it long enough?
