I was wondering where the pcv valve is on my beretta. I looked on the valve cover and it doesnt fit. Also, what exactly does a pcv valve do?

I belive your model has a orifice instead of a PCV valve.

If you had one you would see it :P

the pcv valve is positive crank case ventalation. And it is used to vent the combustion gases out of the crank case so it doesnt blow up and it cant be just left open to vent to the atmosphere so the valve is used to let certain amoutns of the mixture out and go into the manifold to be burned.

You cant just have a straight pipe to it or the vehicle woudl run rough and suck up way to much of the inert gases and not run.
