had tranny rebuilt and had it back for warrenty work acouple times now its shifts extremly hard chirping the tires.the shop said the computer was not sending any voltage to the transmission causing it to shift as if it was under wot.they said i need new computer.Is there only 1 computer that controls engine and tranny(ecm).Is it the 1 located next to the battery?

NO, there is also the TCM(Transmission control module) This is the one they are probably talking about, but check the connections they are famous for bad connectors. TCM is at the left front of the engine compartment.
