Hi

I have a Avalanche 2004, most recently change the oil an filter for service (each 3,000m) but some days after that, start to do a stranger noise like this (ta, tac, tac, tac, ) this happen in the mornings when start and after parking for many hours.

The noise stop after 1 or 2 minutes, the truck dont have any other problems. Runs very well.

(the arrow of oil meter go to up when you speed up an keep in the middle, but if you dont speed up, the arrow down 1/4 in the meter)

Sorry for my english but my first idiom is spanish.
Please help me because I dont know if need fix this before change the oil again.

You are describing hydraulic valve lifter noise, high mileage cars can suffer this fate, if you want you can replace worn lifters and pushrods, may not be woth it though. I suggest driving it until a skip in the engine develops. If you can live with it, your oil pressure seems to behave normally! Only thing to watch is if the oil is full! And the right viscosity is bieng used, wether its 10-31 or 10-40, it should tell you on the stick.

I do provide answers to automotive question, they do not pay me enough to give classes on engine dissasembly! This is NOT something you could do if you are asking this question! Check oil level and pressure, ok, other than that, MUCH more knowledge isr equired today! Do you think you are qualified to tear an engine apart and put it back together? Or would someone be helping you?
