Electrical problem
2001 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I use my power outlets every day, with a power inverter to charge drill batteries, phones, etc. One day my gps went dead and I had it plugged in a power supply, but there was no light on the plug in. Apparentley they just stopped working. I have checked all the fuses under the hood and they are fine. I noticed the wiring goes from the two power outlets to the cigarette lighter, and the cigarette lighter never worked just thought that info might be useful. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so what was the outcome? Any help would be greatly appreciated I really need those power supplies to work, critical to my daily work routine. Thanks

Due to the amount of use you state there is a possibility that the contacts have been streatched and are not making contact to the plug for your inverter. You first need to check to make sure you have power to the plugs and a good ground. If there is power you may just need to replace the receptical.
I did check and did not find any recalls or technical service bulletins dealing with the concern you stated.
During my years at a gm dealer I have run accross the problem you discribe and the contacts being bent by used was usually the issue.
