Engine Performance problem
2000 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Automatic 180000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, van has been sitting for about 4-5 months. It ran then and I parked in driveway.
Tried to start today, dead battery, I charged battery and it turn over fine but will not start. I put 2 fresh gallons of gas in it also.
I just need to crank it one time to move to a friends and i don't care if it ever runs again. I read something about trying starter fluid in carburater, but where is that and is that a solution?
I looked underneath van to try and trace gas line to find fuel pump and maybe tap on it. Anybody have any ideas for a very non- mechanic person here?

Thansk !!

The fuel pump is in the gas tank.

Using the starter fluid find the aircleaner housing there it will have a tube about 4in in diameter going back towards the engine open that end pull the throttle back and spray inside about 5 squirts put the tube back on and try to start it-

No its not a solution is just to find out if its a fuel or spark problem-If you spray and it fires up its a fuel issue -if it doesn't fire up ignition issue.

Good Luck
