I have a 99 astro awd. It runs and drives beautiful no noises humming or anything. For the last 10,000 miles when ever youjust about get stopped the breaks make a noise like a motor coming on and the van keeps going. Then the anti loc light comes on. I was told its the wheel bearing but it makes no noise. Could it just be the abs sensor is bad? Or is it most likely the whole hub needs to be replaced? Thanks

The motor you hear is the anti brakes working. If the wheel (or wheels) are skidding - like on a wet surface or a dirt road where the traction is not good - then the anti lock brakes will kick in. BUT - you mention that the anti lock brake trouble light comes on. This usually means that a sensor is failing in one (or several) wheels. It is best to have your computer scanned at a dealership to confirm what the trouble light is seeing. There will be a code stored in the computer that the scan tool at a dealership can verify. The wheel hub units on these chevys have the wheel bearing and antilock brake sensor combined as a unit - and - they should be replaced as an entire unit - even if the bearing itself is still good.
