I drove the van 72+ miles drove fine got to the bank and it would not back up so we pushed it back & it didn"twant to go forward at first but then it did. Well I checked the fluid it was fine so I tried to make it home it would go then it would start to slip and not want to go in any other gear but 1st I would pull over shut it down wait a few min and start it again and it would go a few miles and start again. When I got home we changed the filter and fluid. And now it still has the same thing going on and now r is drive. Please help

Hello, just a thought. If you think the shift linkage might be a problem, take the linkage loose from the tranny, try shifting the tranny by hand.

There could safety issues with shifting it by hand. Level ground--e-brake set--have a helper on the brake pedal--block the wheels.
