I have a 1994 chevy astro van its a 2w drive with a vortec engine 6 cylinder and it has 220,000 plus miles. My problem is that the van will start only with your foot on the gas pedal and as soon as you remove your foot from the pedal the car putters out. It will not stay started long enough to even put it in drive. What could my problem be?

Check the fuel pressure, it needs to be 9-13 psi with the key on and engine off.

Carbon build up can be nasty for runnibiliity. There are a fair amount of fuel pump problems and that was why I would have started there, not to mention fuel injector assys. Looks like its all acedemic anyways. Glad you solved your problem, and update the post.
