Replacing air filter?

Hi there-
we just picked up a 1990 astro van and the seller told us they took a part the air filter, well we pulled everything apart and it was just sitting in there, not connected to anything. It looks like a screw goes up through it, but I just can't figure out how- I do not see how it connects in there. Any suggestions?

You need to remove the engine cover from inside the van and undo the wing nut ont he air filter housing. Check out the images (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
