Check engine light comes on and starts to misfire

My truck runs all right but after a while the check engine light is on. Then sometimes it misfires, other times runs alright. I have omd2 scanner and don't get any codes on it when the check engine light is on.

Hello and welcome to 2CarPros. If the check engine light comes on then there should be codes posted. You may need to try a different scan tool. If you have a P0300 then I would suspect a faulty distributor.
