Hi, I am going to do maintenance for the A/C system in my car. The A/C compressor is not working. So, I need to replace the A/C compressor. While doing some research about this, I found that it is recommended to replace also the condenser, drier, and expansion valve. Before installing the new parts, I need to flush the system with a chemical flush used for /AC systems to clean all the pipes. For sure, before doing all of these steps I have to evacuate the A/C system. My question is related to A/C system evacuation; Can I do it without a recovery machine? I bought a brand-new recovery tank, I will evacuate the recovery tank using an evacuation pump, then connect it to the A/C system in the car to suck the refrigerant from the system. Does this make sense? Do you think it will work? And if it works, what should I do I can't find any place in my surroundings that can do this job for me for free. They told me that we have to do both evacuation and charging the system.

Yep, it sounds like it will work, vacuum the system down into a recovery tank. Shops used to do it for free, but I guess not too many anymore, they all want the money.

Here is a video that can help though:

You can upload an images of the system you made so I can see if it makes sense.
