I have a 199.5 vw jetta vr6 AFP!I am getting many electrical short to ground codes and I cleaned the terminals under the battery box and the car is still running really rough and really rich! I noticed that on the alternator there is a visible nut that is on a screw and there is no BIG wire attached to it! The kid I bought the car from just had the alternator replaced. Coilpack and plugs replaced. The camshaft sensor also had oil in the plug and was bad and I replaced it and still runs rough and when I down shift it pops like a lil bit of backfiring going on! My MIL and ABS and a the other lights in the middle cluster will not illuminate and my temp gauge is also not moving.I am going to check the converter to see if it is clogged but I want to figure out the electrical short faults that I am getting! Here is the scan! I also replaced the 409 relay and nothing changed! I replaced #3 fuel injector it was cracked and it ran a lil better but it runs like crap still and shakes some! I do have a spare ECM but I dont want to put it in if that is not the issue! Someone told me to check the ignition switch but I dont know if that would cause this issue! Any help would be great! :)

I would start off my taking a real good look at the fuel pump and load reduction relay. We usually replace these relays when we had some of those faults. You may also want to remove the battery tray and inspect the ground cables underneath the tray. There are about 3 grounds that should need to be cleaned and serviced

Thanks I did just that and the faults are gone but I am still have a issue with the check engine light not working at all and when I plug my OBD2 in I dont get any codes which is weird because the car is running rough still and I am getting lower voltage when I check the sensors for engine management like TPS, Purge vale Crank position and the voltage ref should be 5 volts and I am getting any where from 3.72 up to 4.4 volts or so when I check them! Also when I turn the ket to auxilery the TPS just buzzes and does not align? The car starts and runs stll. Do these sound like signs of a bad ECM? I have a extra ECM but I dont have the tools to swap and reprogram and I dont have donor car info! Thanks and great site! :)
