Car needs jump start every time

Issue that I am having is that after jumping my car it doesn't start up after shutting it off. What could be my issue or where should I start?

Is the battery dead? Have you tried recharging it or have you had it checked at a parts store? Has anyone checked to see if the alternator is recharging the battery?
