I just bought this vehicle from someone a few days ago and she is overheating. I noticed as the temperature gage goes up on dash to 260 (the highest) the "Check Gauge" light will begin to illuminate or flash. The radiator was recently
replaced, wondering why she is overheating.

Hello,

An engine can overheat due to a few different reasons.
It could be as simple as being low on coolant, for having a stuck closed thermostat, bad water pump, inoperative cooling fan, clog in the cooling system.

So first make sure that the coolant is at the correct level. If the thermostat is stuck closed, you will have a noticeable temperature different between the upper and the lower radiator hose, as it is preventing the coolant from flowing.

Take a look a this guide, it covers the typical issue with engine overheating:

Go through this and let me know what you find or if you have any questions.

I have attached the diagram of the primary components of the cooling system.

Thank you.
