Right turns are ok but when the car is in parked position or when trying to parallel park the steering on the right is difficult. This car has had issues when first purchased it would make a knocking noise upon turning right or left at times. It was taken back to the dealer who said they did a lube job of some sort which stopped the noise temporarily. I have had differing opinions that it is the gear box, the rack and pinion and the power steering pump. Please help. I cannot afford a new car.

Most pressure on a pump is at lock or turned as far as it will go in one direction. Try a new belt and tensioner as they should be replaced every 60 as a set. If not have a pro check pump pressure and it stillmay be a bad rack and pinion.

Interesting. We will see how the $1200 repair cost works.

Still Lovejones54 but an unhappy one.

It should have said 60K or 60,000 miles might be a bad strut as well or ball joint.
