I am replacing the head gasket on my car and I need to know if the cam needs to be in a certain position be for removing? If not can I just mark it and put it back like it is with my marks or do I have to go to top-dead-center and re-time it from there?

You have to re-time it after you reinstall the head. Just pull the head off.

I sent all that in the last reply in the pics. The timing on the cam is done by the pulley and marks.

You don't need to remove the cam if you are just replacing the head gasket
