2001 Cadillac STS Starting Issues

Lately my car will not start everytime. When I turn the key the dashboard readouts come on and the battery is fine but the car will not engage to turn over. If I wait 5 minutes or so and put the key back in the car will start. The other night I had to wait 1 hour before I could leave work. It seems that if you hurry up and get in the car and try to start it, it will start. Could this be the security on the car, computer, ignition switch or what?

Yes part of the ign switch is bad, the exciter would be my first guess, scan your codes, I need to see a pic of your heater controls to see how to start diag mode
