Cadillac Seville STS 1996 135000 miles 4.6 liter V8

Received PC1406 Code, looked it up and states EGR Valve. I purchased a new EGR valve and gasket as I didn't think cleaning the old one was worth the trouble. Is there any special procedures in installing the new valve and how is the gasket mounted? Do I need to use any kind of gasket sealer? Does the gasket need to be put on the EGR valve or on the engine itself?

Any pictures would be great that show the actual install.
