DRIVING FROM ROSWELL NM TO SAN DIEGO 8/1. STARTED OUT AT 8 AM AC WAS OK UNTIL WE GOT TO TUSON ABOUT NOON A/C STARTED CUTTING IN & OUT OUTDOOR TEMP ABOUT 100, IT DID THIS FOR ABOUT AN HR & THEN QUIT COMPLETELY AT THAT TIME IT WAS 116 OUTSIDE

This could be the pressure switch that has gone bad. Its'on the accumaltor-the big silver thing on the firewall. If you have a volt meter or test light see if ower is going in one wire and out the other. If not that is bad. Otherwise this will have to be checked by a pro as there could have been a leak.
