I had a diagnostics run on car. They are getting an mass airflow fault. What could that be and what would be a typical cost to fix?

A p0101? What are the symptoms that led to a diagnostic test? I believe there is a calibration upgrade to the pcm to address a p0101. Is that the only code?

I am getting a little stall when taking off. Also it seems to be reving the engine while idling when at a a stop. A smell only when im at a stop.

You could possibly have an unmetered air leak. Were there perhaps any lean codes-p0171 or p0174 to accompany the p0101? Was the diagnostic run at a gm dealer, these lean codes could be stored in an area called freeze frame/failure records, and need to be routed out. Your vehicle has the probability that the boot is leaking between the intake and the throttle. It usually leads to higher than normal idle speed(at times), and the lean codes. It can also lead to the maf code. What is the smell, I'm not sure if it relates.
