MY COOLANT IS LEAKING, CAR IS NOT OVERHEATING. I WANT TO KNOW CAN A SEAL LEAK, FROM THE WATERPUMP AND THE PUMP STILL BE GOOD. I DRIVE OVER A 100 MILES WITH AIR ON IN 95 DEGREES AND CAR STILL LEAKING AND MADE IT HOME.I HAVE THE HOUSING OFF WHERE THE THERMOSTAT GOES CAN I JUST PUT A NEW GASKET AND SOME SEALER ON IT. ALSO HOW CAN U TELL IF PUMP IS BAD. HOW DO U TAKE IT OFF AS WELL. SORRY ABOUT THE DONATION PART I LOST MY JOB AND CAN BARLY MAKE IT. DONT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS BUT AM FORCED TO FIX IT

If the pump is leaking, it is bad. By housing, does it have a pear shaped seal? It requires a special socket to remove and install the pump. Be sure that it is not the water pump cover leaking, that is the one with the pear shaped seal the the thermostat housing bolts to. Often times that is what leaks.
