1995 Cadillac Deville V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 113, 00 miles

What other inexpensive/self-help advice can you give me regarding my check engine light staying on because as stated here on this website I went to the auto part store to get a code reader loaned for me to due the reading of codes. So I could be able to determine if they were current repairs or past repairs that weren't cleared. Also so that then I could decide if I needed to determine any sensors that needed to be fixed. However they wouldn't loan it out to me because my car is '95 and it was only for '96 and newer. This is becoming a real headache to get resolved to do smog check. If you could please guide me along here I could use it.

I will do my best to help. I can copy files and send them or you can spend $10 and get a subscription to mitchell. It will tell you how to pull the codes.

Again, I will copy and send them, but there is so much more info there, that it may be beneficial to you to get it.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. I do plan to go to the library tomorrow to check out a car manual also. But its nice to get a second opinion instead of all the phony ones that so far have put me in a bigger situation with my car then the beginning. With their bad mechanic thought they knew the answers and bad thought they knew how to be a mechanic that has me now doing what I should've have done in the beginning. As a woman I will either do it myself if able to and when not able to no longer cheat the better results financially and make sure to get the job done right. So its nice to have you available to get the answers before I go anywhere else that I'll be able to confirm whether they know what their doing before I allow anyone to do any work on my car.

Check your email, that should get you a running. Or at the very least a walking start.

This industry is les than perfect in many ways. It is frustrating a mechanic and equally frustrating for a consumer. If you removed the thieves and the liers form both sides of the fence, there would still remian a ton of frustration. OFten it is brutal to get the necessary information to diagnose.I believe partly by design from the manufacturers.

In any event, Let me know what's happening as needed and I'll give you what help I can. I am not a seasoned technician, but have skills that exceed some that claim to be technicians.
