My car has 67000 miles on it and I want to make sure my car is in tip top shape. I called to see how much a tune up would be and they told me 450 just for spark plugs and wires. That seems a little high. My question is --what can I do to make my car run great and last as long as possible besides oil change? Is it easy to change spark plugs? Any advice would be appriciated. Thanks

You have spark plugs, no wires. One thing preventative you do want to have done is the timing belt. It is generally recommended at 60k, but have seen upwards of 90k on them. The hitch is, if it fails, it bends valves. Engine speed dictates how many, but either way, that is an expensive repair. Other than that, as with any vehicle, you can do everything possible to maintain it, but it is a machine, and anything can fail at any time.
