I have a cadillac cts 2003. The traction control came on then the car shut off. It started back up but was loud and rattling (knockin) it is full of oil with no leaks after I drove about 5 feet it shut back off. It would then crank but wouldnt start up up. Also when I turned key in start position and take my hand off it would still crank up. The code that pulled up along with misfire codes was code 1629. Any ideas

This is your theft derent system and it's shutting the fuel off to your engine. Here's a discription of the code.

DTC P1629

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The theft deterrent control module sends the fuel continue password to the engine control module (ECM) via the serial data circuit. The ECM verifies the fuel continue password received matches the password stored in memory. If the fuel continue password is correct, the ECM enables the starting and fuel delivery systems.

For some reason, the computer isn't receiving the correct code. You'll have to take your car in to a dealership to find out why.
