1994 Cadillac Concours losing power
Engine Performance problem
1994 Cadillac Concours V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 95000 miles
From about First to Third Gear, the engine sputters and jerks losing power. The car seems to perform better at higher speeds but does still occasionally jerk as though it is not getting fuel.

Sounds like you might have secondary misfiring under load. Possibilities include spark plugs, plug wires, a corroded coil terminal.

We have already checked and cleaned all the spark plugs and made sure they were gauged correctly. At the time, one was loose and we thought that may have been the cause of the problem but the problem persisted. The car was also parked for 2 months. One thought is the gas went bad and we are now in need of a fuel filter but we are not sure. Willl a fuel filter cause the same type of problems?
