How much should a brake repair/replacement cost? There is no problem with master cylinder or leakage.

Depends on what is needed, part mark-up, labor rate, quality of parts used, problems that are not forseen prior to the estimate.

Prices can strongly vary in different markets and even within a market. The key is to find a shop that shoots straight and backs up the work they do.

I just purchased 2001 Cadillac Catera, only because the price was right, looking over the vehicle and noticed the brake indicator wear light was on, I removed one of the front wheels to check the brakes and noticed it was missing the wear sensor, I went to several auto parts stores attempting to find a set of brake pads, with sensors, but I had no luck, the brake pads run about $50 a set, and you have to buy the sensors separately only from the dealer, and they run about $54 each, so to answer your question parts will run about $160 if you do it yourself, if the shop does it you better plan on doubling the price of the parts, and adding about $70 labor. Unless you get sucked into the vortex scam, then you better triple the price I just told you, if you plan on doing the job yourself you better let me know I have a few secrets you need to know, and as Paul Harvey would say (God bless his soul) "now you've heard the rest of the story"
