Car keeps burning up fuel pumps. I just put the third one in it. It runs fine and then when it rains it acts up, sputters, then if I don't keep it running faster than idle it will die. When that happens I have to let it sit for a while then I can usually get it started by cranking for a while and pumping the gas. I know that should not help with it being injected but for some reason it does. I also took it to a repair shop and they told me it was full of water and drained it, cleaned the lines, put a new filter in it, but it continued. So I took the pump out and replaced it since its free and pumped all the gas out, cleaned the tank and checked for holes. All of which were good. It ran great for a while except for when it rained or was really moist and the pump just went out and I replaced it again and more of the same. Please help me.

You say it happens only when it rains, so I would check the wiring harness prior to the tank look for chafes/ or ssplitting or where there are only a couple strands of wire connecting. Also the harness INSIDE the tank thatconnects the fuel pump from the outside is very small wires and breaks easily. You may want to check that with an ohm meter to see if you have to much resistance there. Then replace the fuel pump relay as that may be giving you problems as well.
