2003 Buick Rendezvous 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the gear indicator on my rendezvous does not show in park. Therefor the truck will not start with the trans in park. What is going on with this thing?

Two things I would check and that would be to check the connector and wiring at the park/neutral switch. I have seen the odd corroded wire near there but also the switch could be bad. You could also try adjusting it there or at the shifter as it could be out of adjustment. I had the cable off on mine and it needs to be adjusted exactly to work correctly.
