I will be driving along with the car running fine. With no warning and no specific circumstances the car will just shut off and coast. I can shift to N and restart and proceed on. It has never failed to restart and most times starts on the first easy attempt. The car is in a GM service center. They can get the car to fail but because it starts right back up and does not leave a computer message, they cannot fix. You have any ideas?

Hard to believe Mr. Goodwrech cannot find problem.
Suggest they hook up a diagnostic scanner put it on drive test snapshot mode then drive car when it fails scanner will record what failed.

It is OBD1 it has an ECM and that requires them hooking up an older ODB1 scan tool and drive. They are probably not old enough to have worked on a 14 yr old car.
Good luck
Try and find a good independent shop

The best we can come with is "find a good shop". If I could do that I would not be here.
