My 2001 Buick Century with a V6 engine with 35,685 miles had msg to service engine soon.
I went to Auto Zone and they said that it showed an error code of P1404 which stated "B circuit malfunction / EGR temperature sensro circuit". Where is this located on my Buick, is it hard to replace, is it expensive?

Would grearly appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Earl

Earl,

You don't likley need a part replacement, more likley the pcm calibration needs to be updated. Some independent repair shops can do this, more typically a/c delco sponsored shops
Look at the top right of this site:
http://198.208.187.182/internet/InternetMain.jsp

or the dealer can verify if your calibration of the pcm is to date. Expalin the situation and have them check for the current version you have and the most recent one released. Refer them to TSB #01-06-04-018.
