I have a cloth roof and want to remove it cause it now flaps in the breeze when I drive. I wish to paint the roof after. How much trouble is it to remove the cloth on the roof, and will it hurt the roof or cause leks.

They are a pain to get off. Removing it will not cause a leak. Once you get the material off, use a sander to remove the glue and prep for paint.

Stonehawk: Recover it? Recover the top? Or the roof itself? Or, do you mean re-cover?

If re-cover, just pull it off. If you're lucky, it will all come off in one piece. Sand all of the old glue off, use alcohol to prep, use glue supplied with the new cover and the follow the installation instructions.
