Engine Performance problem
1992 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

So I just bought 92 buick century 3.3 liter v6 used. It started stalling after driving it for only a mile or so. Once it stalls it wont start again, it will turn but not start. When it stalls, it doesn't sputter. And there is no noise. The dash lights come on and the engine stops. After waiting about a hour, the car will start again just fine. But only will make it a half mile or less before it stalls again. We bought a new ignition control module and that didn't help, we then had the coils tested, and they are fine. This is our only vehicle and we have alreayd taken it to two garages with no help. The fuel pressure seems to be fine. Can you help?

Did you actually check the fuel pressure with a gauge. If its within specs -test the crankshaft position sensor.

How do you test the crank shaft sensor? And I don't think they did test the fuel pressure with a guage. They took the hose off I belive and it sprayed. The mechanics I have been using aren't the brightest bulbs.

Now that you got the brightest light your able to see all over-shine the light to the fuel pressure gauge and check the resistance of the crankshaft position sensor I need this info so that we can continue.
