There is really nothing special from the BMW stock battery and a battery off the shelf at a local auto part store. The important things are to choose the one with the best warranty and at the right price, and most importantly to match up it's size ( cranking amps etc..) to the OEM battery.

What about the tube on the side, RC, AH, etc. After market batteries do not come close to the same specs as original:
570A
12V
70AH
120RC
570CCA

Autozone sells a duralast battery with an 8 year warranty for your vehicle for 135 after a 12 core charge return. it is vented to outside of the vehicle, made specifically to fit into the trunk location of your BMW. Autozone Part number is H5-DLG
